“Replacement dwelling nestled into the landscape. Two simple barn-like forms linked by a more contemporary mono-pitch structure. ”
We are currently working with clients overseas to create a contemporary oak frame home.
Living in Kuala Lumpur, our clients came to us for three things, listed below:
The first was a full turnkey solution (as they wanted to have a house designed and built in England for them to move back home to). They needed a complete planning, design and build company to fully manage their project who they could completely trust to take care of everything whilst they were living abroad.
The second was a company who used tried and trusted cost processes who could help them to keep their project within budget.
The third was a company with extensive planning knowledge and capabilities. Although planning permission had already been granted despite a lot of local resistance, that scheme was not precisely the design of contemporary oak frame home that our clients were looking for. We therefore resubmitted to give our clients the spatial improvements they were looking for, as well as taking the opportunity to visually enhance the overall scheme. Satisfying the disparate demands of all parties in this conservation area, and the sensitivity of the site was key to achieving a positive outcome.
We have worked very closely with them to ensure that we have their project fully under control, but involving them as and when they choose. We have regular Skype meetings with them, and meet face to face when they are back in the UK.
The house is currently in the construction phase and is scheduled to be ready for our clients to move into in July 2018.
